Are Your Buyers Excited to Share? You Should Help

For a real estate, the exciting part of the home buying process is closing the deal and getting everyone to sign on the dotted line. That means the sale is official, money will be changing hands, and you will be getting paid. This is a job, after all, so there is nothing wrong with being focused on making money and growing your business.

For a home buyer, however, the exciting part is actually getting to move into the new home. Whether it is a first home or not, most buyers greatly look forward to the day they can take the keys and start to move their items in. And, this being the 21st century, there is a good chance that plenty of pictures will be taken along the way. Those pictures are almost certain to show up on social media, where family and friends are waiting to be impressed.

So, what does this have to do with you? Well, when something is shared on social media, it is going to be in front of a significant number of people. If you can find yourself involved in this process in some way, you might be able to pick up a new client or two as a result.

Photos Post-Close

When you think about taking photos in the home buying and selling process, you think naturally about the pictures that will be attached to the listing. Those are important, of course, but you can also decide to help your clients take pictures after they have made the purchase. Whether you take them yourself or bring back your photographer, this will make it easy for the home buyers to actually be in the pictures. Then, when they are shared on social media, it will be more likely that you’ll be mentioned or receive some form of credit for the work. It doesn’t take a huge investment of time or money to be involved in this process but taking this step just may earn you some valuable business down the line.

Show Your Commitment

The real estate agents who tend to be the most successful are those who are truly committed to the success of their clients. Yes, you want to make money, but you also need to be invested in seeing your clients reach their goals. Deciding to help with some post-closing pictures is a great way to show your client that you are happy for them in their new home, and you want to continue to help. That might be the difference in them deciding to retain your services for their next property transaction, or it might encourage them to refer you to friends and family later on.

Can you do a good job as a real estate agent without being involved in any post-close photos? Of course. This is not a required step, and it is one that many real estate agents don’t even consider. However, it is smart to pay attention to your clients and understand what kind of service will impress them most. If a particular client seems to be active on social media and excited to share their house news with others, that might be the perfect time to offer help with these kinds of pictures. Read your clients’ needs and interests and respond accordingly.
